Music is an organic process for children, they do it by nature! We lay the foundations of a long life love for music and add the joy of community music-making. The curriculum of the class is tailored so that each child has a unique experience -every single time- and of course, mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, and nanny are part of the family and join in on the fun too!
Each class is a world of discovery and adventure! You'll witness your child's developmental progress in language skills, literacy, listening, problem-solving, social skills, self-esteem, emotional connections, and musicality. And it happens within a nurturing environment; full of energy, imagination, music, dancing, and playful delight.

From rocking to bouncing to dancing, we offer rich musical experiences at just the right level for your little one. Each curriculum is a unit designed to nurture language skills, social interactions, fine and gross motor skills, creativity, and reasoning, using music as the medium.

We are delighted for our continued partnership since 2017, with the leading dance Studio and Dance Company in Jersey City. Together, we share music with NJ families and contribute to building a community with a strong sense of music and arts. It's like our home and we love it!
The Village Play Cafe-
Partners since 2018, A new & innovative concept for families with children 0-5 in Chatham, NJ, Moms/caregivers bring the children to our classes every week and stay to enjoy the gorgeous space. Our students get $5 off Open Play!

We're so excited to partner up in 2024 with Yeon and her amazing team to bring A Sound Start to her school as part of the music team for the kids enrolled at LPA, as well as extracurricular A Sound Start music time classes for everyone in the community.

Fast-Track Languages-
A one-of-a-kind partnership starting in 2025 in Jersey City with Johanna. A Sound Start will bring our unique "Canta Conmigo" bilingual class to her bilingual school. It's a great way for the spanish speaking families to enjoy a music class in Spanish, and for the non-Spanish speaking families, for their little ones to learn a new language in a fun and unique way!
Twin Monkey Play-
Partnering up with Elda is super fun! We love bringing "Canta Conmigo" bilingual curriculum to her cute space in Lyndhurst. All the families enjoy it so much!

A Sound Start Baby & Me
Infant Class AGES: 0 - 12 mo + Caregiver
This first encounter with music is a true gift to a baby and will be the start of a beautiful and long-lasting music journey. This class is the perfect mix of the relaxed and yet fun setting for babies and caregivers. It’s a perfect blend of multiple activities - that includes initial warmup and connection, to the exploration of different textures, sounds, instruments, creative movement, and vocal play. Your baby's growth and development are stimulated and all of his senses are engaged.

A Sound Start Tots
AGES: 0 - 3 years old + Caregiver
This unique mixed-age class is the perfect beginning of their music journey! It encourages little ones to discover a fun musical world while building confidence, self-control & communications skills. We sing, imitate sounds, use visuals, identify beats, learn all about different instruments and get to experience them and play them too! All while exposed to different genres of music from around the world. It gives them a chance to discover their inner musician while learning vocabulary, fine and gross motor skills, timing & spatial awareness.
Storytime encourages emergent literacy skills, and our live guitar jam always ends the class on a high note!

CANTA CONMIGO (Sing with Me)
AGES: 0 - 4 years old + Caregiver
Canta Conmigo (“Sing with Me”), is a Spanish music class where children of all ages learn the basics of the language and everyday routines in a fun way, through songs, puppets, props, instruments, stories, visuals, live guitar and much more. Get ready to learn catchy songs in Spanish!
